Low Voltage Contractor for General Contractors in the GTA
AN Telecom Solutions works with general contractors, construction managers, and trade partners across Mississauga, Toronto, and the Greater Toronto Area. We handle Division 27 communications and Division 28 security scope — from structured cabling rough-in through close-out testing — so your project stays on schedule.
Whether you are bidding a commercial build, a tenant improvement, or a phased renovation, you need a low voltage subcontractor who understands construction schedules, coordination with other trades, and documented handoff. We install and certify the infrastructure that supports phones, data, Wi-Fi, cameras, paging, and rack rooms — and we coordinate with your site superintendent on rough-in dates, pathway conflicts, and inspection milestones.

Division 27 — Communications
Division 27 covers the structured cabling and communications pathways that feed every desk, wireless access point, and telecom room on the project. We plan cable routes with your mechanical and electrical teams, install horizontal and backbone cabling to spec, and label pathways for the next trade.
- Pathway and conduit coordination for low voltage runs
- Cat6 and Cat6A horizontal cabling and consolidation points
- Telecom room and MDF / IDF readiness
- Coordination with structured cabling and fiber backbone scope
Division 28 — Security
Division 28 security work includes the cabling and device mounting that supports access control, intrusion, and video surveillance — often on a parallel schedule to Division 27 rough-in. We pre-wire camera locations, reader positions, and head-end rooms so security integrators or our team can commission systems after drywall and ceilings are complete.
Our CCTV and security systems team installs commercial IP camera systems, NVR recording, and structured cabling to each device — aligned with your construction drawings and device schedules.
Structured Cabling Rough-In
Rough-in is where most schedule risk lives. We pull cable while walls and ceilings are open, firestop penetrations where required, and leave clearly identified homeruns to the telecom room. We follow TIA/EIA structured cabling practices and match the cable category specified on your drawings — Cat6, Cat6A, or hybrid copper/fiber designs.
For full design-build cabling on occupied or greenfield sites, see our commercial network cabling contractor overview or the technical network cabling services page.
CCTV Pre-Wiring and Installation
We install PoE cabling to dome, bullet, and specialty camera locations; mount cameras where specified; and terminate at the security head-end or IDF. Pre-wire during rough-in avoids costly rework after ceilings are closed. We work on retail, office, warehouse, and multi-tenant projects throughout the GTA.
Fiber Backbone
Building-to-building links, riser backbone between floors, and ISP demarc extensions often require single-mode or multimode fiber. We pull, terminate, and test fiber runs with fusion splicing and OTDR verification where the specification requires it — integrated with your copper plant and server room layout.
Wi-Fi and Access Points
Wireless coverage depends on correct AP placement and a solid wired backhaul. We install ceiling- and wall-mounted access points, run Cat6 drops to each location, and coordinate with IT on VLAN and switch requirements. Site surveys and heatmapping support larger offices and warehouses — see Wi-Fi design and installation.
Paging and Intercom
Overhead paging, zone amplifiers, ceiling speakers, and intercom stations are common in retail, industrial, and institutional builds. We rough-in speaker circuits and backboxes, install hardware during fit-out, and integrate paging with business phone systems and music on hold where the spec requires it.
Network Racks — MDF, IDF, and Telecom Rooms
We build out wall-mount and floor-standing racks, install cable management, patch panels, and UPS-ready power layouts, and dress cable for inspection-ready close-out photos. Rack work is coordinated with HVAC and electrical clearances and with the owner's IT team on switch and PDU placement.
Testing and Certification
Every copper run we install can be tested and certified with Fluke equipment before turnover. We provide test results for your close-out package and fix any failures before final inspection. Documented certification protects the GC, the owner, and the warranty chain on the cabling plant.
Subcontractor Coordination
We are accustomed to working under general contractors as a dedicated low voltage trade: attending coordination meetings, submitting shop drawings when required, sequencing with drywall and ceiling contractors, and punching out deficiencies before substantial completion. If you need a single telecom partner for phones, cabling, cameras, and wireless on the same job, we can scope the full package — see all services.
